Retail Pharmacy Manager - Nantucket Cottage Hospital

We are offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus to join our team! Directs daily operations of pharmacy services. This position directs and supports pharmacy staff. Participates in determining the short and long-term goals for the department and related policies and procedures. Provides leadership and guidance to the pharmacy staff. Essential Functions Provides leadership, guidance and serves as a role model to those professionals under their supervision. Supervises and directs the daily operations of pharmacy services. Schedule and assign staff. Serves as a resource person regarding pharmacy policies to pharmacists, physicians, nurses and other hospital staff. Participates in on-call responsibility as assigned. Responsible for staff development and performance evaluation. Assists in the recruitment, interviews, and training of new staff. Participates in the development of policy and procedures. Conducts educational programs, in-services, and staff meetings. Education Doctor of Pharmacy Pharmacy required. Licenses and Credentials MA Pharmacist License. Experience 3-5 years of related experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent verbal, written and quantitative skills. Comprehensive knowledge of department operations. Knowledge of the pharmacology of drugs and legal aspects of dispensing. Interpersonal skills to educate and supervise staff, normally acquired after three to five years of related hospital experience in a progressive, large health care organization and through self-directed education. Ability to work accurately and make decisions under stress and with time constraints. Strong attention to detail.
