Speech Clinical Fellow - Pediatrics/Adults

Description The Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellow evaluates patients, identifies problems, develops a care plan, prepares and implements patient education, and provides direct patient care to help individuals reach their maximum performance. The role includes assisting in continuous quality improvement processes, education and training of students, and contributing to divisional growth and cohesiveness for high-quality therapy care. Core Competencies Performs evaluations appropriate to established procedures, ensuring prescriptions/orders and using best-practice tests. Develops comprehensive care plans, prognosticates outcomes, and integrates evidence-based practice for individual patients. Manages speech therapy care and coordinates with other providers to ensure complete patient care. Completes documentation accurately and promptly within expected timeframes. Utilizes treatment interventions within the scope of practice and evidence-based practice to maximize outcomes tailored to patient populations. Identifies safety concerns, institutes measures to protect patients and staff, and obtains consent from patients or caregivers. Facilitates patient discharge, documenting, communicating with the care team, and recommending follow-up services. Provides culturally sensitive, patient‑centered care respecting personal, cultural, spiritual, and socio‑economic factors. Contributes ideas for continuous improvement of processes, methods, and productivity, employing quality principles. Engages in continuous learning, professional development, and documentation of evidence. Participates in activities that promote professional identity within the clinical environment and the broader community. Completes required training components set by the American Speech‑Language and Hearing Association, documenting all required activities.
