We’re bringing together the people, ideas and capital that nurture progress and growth, helping to create a better world – for our customers, our people, our investors, our communities, and the planet we all share.Business Credit Office provides front line credit and risk ownership including writing credit papers, performing credit analysis, modeling projection and enterprise valuation analysis, coordinating with internal stakeholders (such as Credit Risk, relationship managers, global partners, and product teams), and delivering sound recommendations based on robust business, relationship, and industry analysis using expert judgment and conforming with internal credit policies/guidelines and external regulatory requirements.As our Vice President, US Business Credit Office you will:Deliver the business strategy with strong knowledge of Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) priorities, with a focus on sponsor owned and leverage finance clients. Work with our CIB relationship bankers and product partners, together with our risk stewards, to deliver on the business strategy aligned with risk appetite Support the origination, analysis, structuring, and day‑to‑day execution of transactions as well as ongoing portfolio and risk managementBuild strategic and valued relationships with customers, applying knowledge to provide value-add advice and assistanceAdhere to HSBC policies, procedures, and control requirements and raise any concerns about actual or potential issues promptly, in line with reporting and escalation proceduresEnsure all actions consider the likelihood of operational risk occurring, addressing areas of concern in conjunction with Risk and relevant colleagues and ensuring that actions resulting from internal/external audits and external regulators are correctly implemented in a timely fashionYoull likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:Demonstrated proficiency in corporate banking underwriting, with specialized expertise in leveraged acquisition financing, leveraged lending, and underwriting sponsor transactions. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of broader corporate banking solutions tailored for international corporate clientsExperience working on multi‑party transactions or cross‑border financing is an advantageTeam‑oriented mindset with willingness to learn and take ownershipStrong financial modelling skills (cashflow, LBO) and analytical capabilityThorough understanding of general industries, associated credit and risk profile of respective transactionsAbility to analyze situations effectively and make well thought-out decisionsLead credit engagement to help optimize relationship value, improve client engagement, and deliver needs-based solutions and fair customer outcomesEnable proactive client management by attending client meetings (as needed) and acting as a first point of contact for credit-related customer enquiriesProven leadership skills including coaching, motivation and communications skills to inspire othersStrong teamwork skills promoting an environment of co-operation and trust, overcoming resistance were encounteredStrong analytical and financial skillsExcellent prioritizing, organizational and time management abilitiesExcellent verbal and written communications skillsAs an HSBC employee, you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities to ensure you have the right skills for today and tomorrow.
