Human Resources Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our Home Health segment in the Richmond area. This role is essential for ensuring a seamless transition for new hires, from the finalization of the offer through their first day of orientation.
This is a 3-month contract position (06/08/2026 – 09/07/2026) with the potential—though no guarantee—to transition into a permanent role based on performance and business needs.
Position Overview
- Compensation: starting at $21.00 / hour (increase due to overall exp)
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Location: 100% Onsite (8751 Park Central Dr, STE 140, Richmond, VA 23227)
- Primary Focus: Pre-hire logistics, onboarding compliance, and clinical licensure review.
Key Responsibilities
- Onboarding Compliance: Manage the end-to-end background check process and coordinate post-employment drug screenings.
- Documentation & Digital Filing: Securely upload sensitive paperwork (I-9s, offer letters, and sign-on bonuses) into DocuCloud and utilize the e-verification system for I-9 processing.
- Clinical Review: Assist in reviewing clinical licensures to ensure all new hires meet regulatory requirements for the Home Health site.
- Communication & Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for new hires regarding "Day 1" actions and manage the registration process for employee orientations.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed status reports and correspondence regarding the onboarding pipeline for the HR team.
- Administrative Support: Assist the HR Department with specialized projects and general office duties as assigned.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: Previous professional experience in Human Resources and Onboarding is required.
- Technical Skills: * Familiarity with I-9 e-verification systems and digital document management.
- Ability to prepare accurate reports and professional business correspondence.
- Strong proficiency in standard office software.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to track multiple candidates across various stages of onboarding.
- Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively with office staff and new employees.
- A high degree of discretion when handling confidential personnel files.
