We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a collaborative finance team in California. This position is ideal for an accounting specialist who enjoys working across core financial processes while maintaining accuracy in day-to-day transactions. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to timely reporting, support month-end activities, and help strengthen internal accounting operations as responsibilities continue to be brought in-house.

Responsibilities:
• Manage vendor invoices, payment processing, and related accounts payable activity to ensure obligations are handled accurately and on schedule.
• Assist with receivables by preparing billing, monitoring outstanding balances, and following up on collection matters as needed.
• Complete bank account reconciliations and support the review of balance sheet accounts during regular closing cycles.
• Post journal entries and help preserve the accuracy of general ledger records across multiple accounting areas.
• Contribute to month-end close by preparing schedules, organizing supporting data, and helping finalize financial results.
• Partner with the accounting team to promote reliable financial reporting and consistent recordkeeping practices.
• Research variances and accounting issues, then work toward timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Maintain well-organized financial files and supporting documentation to improve audit readiness and internal reference.
• Provide support for special accounting assignments, including work tied to expanding internally managed accounting functions.• 1-3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, or accounts receivable roles.
• Working knowledge of core accounting concepts, including how debits, credits, and ledger activity affect financial records.
• Familiarity with preparing reconciliations and recording journal entries in an accounting environment that values accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience in real estate or property management accounting is advantageous.
• Proficiency with MRI is strongly preferred; experience with Yardi will also be considered.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to keep financial information organized and accurate.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute positively within a team-oriented accounting department.
