Increment Payload Manager

Overview We look for an Increment Payload Manager in the International Space Station (ISS) Program Mission Integration and Operations Office to support utilization, integration, and post‑flight documentation of research aboard the ISS. The role serves as the liaison between NASA’s Mission Operations and Utilization Branches. Responsibilities Lead efforts to develop, document, coordinate, implement, and manage program‑level utilization plans and requirements for ISS increments. Act as liaison between NASA’s Utilization (OZ) and Mission Integration (OC) branches to facilitate payload information transfer, coordinate payload planning, and resolve anomalies. Develop, coordinate inputs and recommendations for program utilization plans, procedures, schedules, and processes. Serve as research plan focal person for the NASA ISS Increment Team and international partners. Lead integrated payload/utilization analysis and issue resolution during increment preparation; support decision making on flight readiness, schedule changes, and crew time impacts. Coordinate and oversee utilization execution in the ISS Management Center (IMC) with assigned Research Increment Engineers and Payload Operations Managers. Support the ISS Mission Management Team and Operations Tag‑up as the utilization representative. Perform feasibility assessments to identify risk areas and concerns. Participate in post‑flight processes, including post increment evaluation reports, crew debriefs, and lessons learned. Travel periodically for program reviews and technical interchange meetings. Qualifications Required Education/Experience/Skills: Engineering degree and five (5) or more years of relevant experience, including three (3) years of spaceflight operations/integration experience. Leadership experience leading multidisciplinary teams. Strong communication, interpersonal, and written communication skills. Strong analytical skills, ability to manage resources, resolve conflicts, and work in a fast‑paced environment. Attention to detail, initiative, and adaptability. Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint. Preferred Education/Experience/Skills: Experience with ISS Program Mission Integration & Operations Office, Research Integration Office, or international partners. Experience on the Increment Management Team or in the ISS Management Center. Experience with Payload Operations Integration Center or Flight Operations Directorate flight planning. Project management or systems engineering background. Essential Requirements: U.S. citizenship and successful completion of a government background investigation. Candidate may be subject to security investigation and must meet access to classified information requirements. Work may include prolonged sitting; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs; occasional travel. Requirement for routine office attendance and flexible schedule for peak periods. Team‑oriented behavior and professional conduct expected; grooming and dress appropriate.
