Assistant Coach, Club Hockey

Job Summary The Men’s Club Hockey Assistant Coach works with the Head Coach to provide supervision and effective leadership to the ice hockey club sport program. Responsibilities include fostering skill development and teamwork among students; promoting and upholding institute policies and procedures; and initiating activities in support of the sports club. The assistant coach will assist with team organization and required paperwork for ACHA Division 3 membership. This position collaborates with the head coach to provide skill and developmental support of the team. A member of the coaching staff is required to be at all practices and games. Responsibilities Provide skill development and instructional support to the team. Promote and uphold institute policies and procedures. Initiate activities to support the sports club. Assist with team organization and required paperwork for ACHA Division 3 membership. Attend all practices and games. Use instructions and guidelines to perform job safety functions. Complete periodic training required. Qualifications Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree. Knowledge: Working knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of hockey and ability to apply them in varied situations. USA Hockey Coaching Level 1 Certification (or in progress). Knowledge of Skill Development; ability to work with and develop individuals at various skill levels. Experience: Previous playing or coaching experience; skill development experience; team building experience. Position Details University does not sponsor H-1B visas.
