You'll be the bridge between art and tech, bringing creative ideas to life end to end, from conception to execution. A big plus if you're adept at coding and scripting, and comfortable folding modern AI tools into your asset and tooling pipelines.## Responsibilities* Design and implement stunning visual effects using Unreal Engine's Niagara system* Create animations and integrate them seamlessly into the game pipeline* Work closely with the design and engineering teams to implement graphical and functional features* Optimize assets for performance while maintaining visual fidelity* Prototype and implement new ideas, combining art, VFX, and technical tools* Contribute to solving complex technical challenges in rendering, shaders, and effects* Integrate AI assisted workflows where they make sense, such as Meshy, Tripo, or Rodin for base meshes, Substance 3D and ComfyUI for textures, and AI upscalers for VFX sources## Requirements* Proficiency in Unreal Engine 5, including Blueprints and Niagara* Strong understanding of VFX, animations, shaders, and materials* Problem solving skills to implement graphical and gameplay elements* Programming experience (C++ or Python) is a strong plus* Passion for gaming and pushing the boundaries of game visuals* Familiarity with AI generation tools for 3D, texture, and image work, with a strong eye for what is production ready versus what needs a human pass## To Thrive at Crater Studios* Be a self starter who thrives in fast moving, ambiguous environments* Be comfortable wearing multiple hats and figuring things out as you go* Care deeply about quality, creativity, and execution* Have a genuine passion for games, creators, and online communities* Share our vision of building interconnected games and communities that scale together
