Litigation Attorney

Job Overview: A well-established law firm in Saint Louis, MO , is seeking a Litigation Associate with 3-6 years of experience in civil defense, ideally with exposure to toxic tort matters. The successful candidate will manage a litigation caseload, participate in depositions, court appearances, and strategic defense planning. This role is suited for an attorney who thrives in a collaborative trial team environment and enjoys a mix of courtroom and analytical litigation work. Duties: Oversee a portfolio of active civil litigation cases from initiation through resolution Formulate and execute defense strategies tailored to individual claims Conduct and defend depositions Appear in court for motions, hearings, mediations, and pretrial proceedings Review and analyze discovery materials, including medical documentation and expert reports Research legal precedents, regulatory implications, and party histories Draft legal briefs, internal memoranda, and client correspondence Maintain communication with team members and clients Participate in case strategy sessions with senior litigators and trial attorneys Requirements: Licensed and in good standing in both Missouri and Illinois 3 to 6 years of litigation experience, particularly in defense matters Proven ability to conduct depositions and draft complex motions Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent research, writing, and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school Certifications: Active bar admission in Missouri and Illinois Skills: Legal research and writing Strategic thinking and problem-solving under pressure Strong advocacy and interpersonal skills Organizational skills with multiple deadlines Attention to detail and high-quality work delivery Comfort with remote and in-person litigation tasks Job Location: Saint Louis, MO The position offers a hybrid work model, performance bonuses, mentorship programs, flexible work arrangements, covered CLE and bar expenses, marketing allowance, 401(k), FSA/HSA, life insurance, disability coverage, parental leave, and access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
