We are seeking a licensed Architect with 5+ years of experience to assist in the growth of our Architectural Department. This full-time position will be based in our Dixon, IL office and requires a minimum of a Bachelor of Architecture Degree with a Professional Architectural License(s). This position will be responsible for the development of design solutions for a variety of project types, communication with clients, consultants, agencies, and staff, as well as the technical and production aspects of projects from project inception through project completion. Competitive wage and benefit package offered. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Collects data using field notes and other forms of data collection. Is familiar with and able to operate all the instrumentation required for the collection of survey data (total station, data collector, level, and GPS receivers). Transmits survey data to the proper files in the computer network and be able to acquire the data for field use. Marks points of measurement with elevation, station number, or other identifying mark. In the field, will act as another set of eyes for the Foreman. Is expected to report any instrument malfunctions to the Foreman immediately. Is expected to perform a mental double check of the field activities and confirm adherence to standards. Cuts and clears brush and trees from line of survey. Returns all equipment to the assigned location at the end of the day. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of survey equipment, taking field notes, data collection, performing calculations and working with staff and clients on these projects. Involvement in the office will include reducing survey data, performing calculations, copying, and filing of data. Performs occasional building & grounds maintenance. Requirements and Qualifications: Minimum of High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Prefer specialized vocational training in survey technology or two years’ experience. Minimum of two years’ experience if no specialized training in survey technology. Familiarity with survey equipment, robotic total stations, and GPS. Must have the ability to operate a computer and computer software related to surveying and data collection. Experience with MicroStation or Civil3d a plus, but not required. Work outside in all weather conditions. Work overtime as needed. Willingness to travel, minimal overnight travel. Valid Driver’s License and maintain license in good standing, ability to be insured by WHA carrier. Ability to communicate effectively. Be a team player.
