Job Summary:
SMI HVAC Services is seeking a skilled and reliable Journeyman HVAC Installer with 5–10 years of hands-on experience. The ideal candidate is experienced in installing complete HVAC systems, has strong sheet metal fabrication and installation skills, and can confidently troubleshoot systems and assist in estimating installation projects. This position requires someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, can work independently or with a team, and maintains a professional attitude on job sites.

 

Responsibilities:

• Install residential and commercial HVAC systems (split systems, package units, ductless, etc.)
• Fabricate and install sheet metal ductwork, fittings, and accessories
• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications
• Install air distribution systems including diffusers, grilles, and dampers
• Troubleshoot HVAC systems and identify issues when needed
• Gather materials, equipment, and scope details to assist in preparing installation quotes
• Ensure all installations meet local codes and company quality standards
• Work efficiently to meet project deadlines
• Maintain a clean and safe job site
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors

 

Requirements:

• 5–10 years of HVAC installation experience (Journeyman level)
• Ability to lead and manage a small crew
• Sheet metal experience (Preferred)
• Ability to troubleshoot HVAC systems independently
• Experience gathering materials and job details for installation estimates/quotes
• Ability to read plans and layout duct systems
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
