Emma Marie’s Grooming & Daycare is looking for a motivated, dependable, and self-driven Assistant Manager to join our team of 29 dedicated professionals across our two locations at 19 County Road in Mattapoisett and 14 Ventura Drive in North Dartmouth.

We are seeking a strong leader who takes initiative, leads by example, and is passionate about developing employees while maintaining high standards of pet care, customer service, and daily operations. Our ideal candidate is organized, solutions-oriented, and comfortable managing a fast-paced, high-volume service business.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Development: Train, coach, and develop employees and Team Leaders to build a knowledgeable, accountable, and motivated team.
• Delegation & Accountability: Assign responsibilities, establish clear expectations, follow up on delegated tasks, and address performance concerns through coaching and corrective action when needed.
• Customer Experience: Ensure the team consistently delivers prompt, friendly, professional, and accurate service while creating a positive experience for every client.
• Pet Safety & Quality Standards: Maintain high standards for pet safety, cleanliness, facility maintenance, and overall quality of care.
• Scheduling & Labor Management: Support staffing and scheduling needs, manage coverage, and monitor labor costs to meet operational goals.
• Daily Operations: Oversee day-to-day workflows, identify operational challenges, and ensure established procedures and policies are consistently followed.
• Cash Handling & Financial Procedures: Ensure accurate cash handling, register reconciliation, and deposit procedures.
• Inventory & Ordering: Maintain appropriate inventory levels and ensure ordering systems are followed to support daily operations and retail needs.
• Communication & Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with management and department leaders to maintain consistency, address concerns, and support company goals.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and hold team members accountable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional, approachable demeanor.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to the values and culture of Emma Marie’s.
• Ability to manage a fast-paced, high-volume, customer-focused service business.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to changing daily needs.
• Reliable, proactive, and capable of working independently while collaborating with the management team.
• Sound judgment and problem-solving skills, especially when handling staffing, customer service, and operational challenges.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, structured, and positive environment for pets, clients, and employees.
