Summary Cleveland Construction is seeking an Estimating Engineer to support the Estimating Department in Mentor, OH. Job Responsibilities Perform thorough document reviews, including geotechnical reports, phase I & II reports, hazardous material reports, schematics, design development & construction drawings, specifications, etc. Develop project‑specific estimates and general conditions. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs. Develop project‑specific scopes of work to be distributed to bidding subcontractors. Develop project‑specific qualifications to be submitted to the Owner with RFP responses or bids. Skills & Knowledge Ability to work cross‑functionally with departments and team members. Efficiency while capturing main scope of work. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to assess risk on a variety of project scopes and geographic locations. Computer / Technology Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook). On‑Screen Takeoff software preferred. Aptitude in learning new computer systems. Education / Experience A four (4) year degree in Construction Management, Civil, Business or Finance. Willingness to learn and grow within the role, company and industry. College coursework or internship with estimating focus. Physical Demands / Working Conditions Sitting for long periods of time. Completing tasks using a computer and other office equipment. Position requires frequent talking, hearing, and vision with occasional standing, walking and reaching. Job position responsibilities are performed in a business office environment with computers, printers and phones.
