Fabrication AssistantAssist in fabrication of parts.Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Produce quality welds to complete fabrication process.Levels, scrapes, and finishes edges or surfaces using hand scrapperAdjusts valves to obtain flame of specified size and color and adjusts arc welding equipment to obtain specified size arc, under strict supervisionObtain accurate amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse on welding unitCleans weld jointAble to meet established deadlinesQualificationsOne-year experience working in some of production of fabrication facility desiredGood amount of general mechanical aptitudeGeneral knowledge of machines and tools used in manufacturing and/or mechanical shopsPosition requires a great deal of arm-hand steadiness and manual dexterity, including hand, arm, and fingerAbility to hand and interpret linear tape measureAbility to follow verbal instructionsEducation and/or Experience1 year welding experience preferred.Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
