This is a permanent contract teacher position located at Marsh Creek Sixth Grade Center. The successful candidate will deliver high quality instruction, foster a safe and inclusive learning environment, and collaborate with colleagues to promote student success. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited college or university and hold a proper Pennsylvania certification for the position. Valid PA certification specific to the content area: 7‑12 Social Studies; 6‑9 Social Studies; All subjects 4‑6, Social Studies 7‑8. Demonstrations of knowledge in the social studies curriculum for grade 6. Positive attitude toward teaching, service to the district, and commitment to student learning. Proficiency in the use of current technology for instruction and communication. Flexibility to adjust hours to meet the needs of students, parents, and teachers. Effective interpersonal skills and ability to interface diplomatically with parents, teachers, administrators, students and outside organizations. Excellent classroom management skills. Ability to work under stress while maintaining professional conduct in accordance with the Pennsylvania Code of Professional Practice and Conduct for Educators. Compliance with all federal, state, and local background and criminal record check requirements. Adherence to all local, state, federal, and school code requirements for employment. Duties & Responsibilities Planning and Preparation of lessons and assessments. Deep knowledge of the social studies curriculum for grade 6. Instructional delivery that engages and motivates students. Consistent communication with students, parents, and staff. Salary Placement upon salary scale is dependent upon education and years of teaching service. Schedule 7.5 hours per day based on the district-approved calendar, up to 191 days per year. Up to 3 orientation days for professional employees during the first year.
