X-ray Technologist

Area: southeastern North Carolina. Office Locations: Faison area Responsibilities Prepares facilities in accordance with procedural requirements; calibrates equipment as required. Responds to patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process. Prepares and positions patient for procedures as appropriate; assists patients at end of procedure. Understands and uses correct exposure factors, compression and angulation in order to produce high quality images. Monitors the patient’s physical condition and ensures their comfort during the procedure; reports patient changes of status or emergency situations to clinical staff and site leader. Determines if the procedure was sufficient, or if additional imaging procedures are needed; consults with Radiologist as necessary. Provides images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation. Completes all documentation, including computerized documentation. Preliminary setup and continuous maintenance of all manuals (i.e. QC/QA, Policy & Procedure, etc.) for annual analysis and inspection. Maintains stock supplies and assists administrators in determining quantities for purchase. Performs general office duties such as recording procedure codes for billing purposes, typing forms, and scheduling patients. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Initial facility (site) accreditation (e.g. American College of Radiology). Reaccreditation process occurs every three years. Other assigned duties. Credentials CPR/BLS Certification. Licensure and Certification(s) must be current and must be maintained as a condition of employment. Clinical Experience & Skills Requirements Two (2) years clinical experience/skills. Good computer & communication skills. Work‑up patients for X‑ray. Obtain radiologist reports for Goshen providers and patient electronic medical record. Printing X‑ray CDs for patients, as requested. Comply with quality assurance & control manual and radiation safety manual. Preferred Experience & Skills Bilingual (Spanish) (preferred but not required). Electronic medical record experience (preferred but not required). Physical Requirements Must be able to work in a dynamic and active environment. Position may require long periods of standing or walking. Regular and recurring back bending may be required. Carrying of light packages (e.g. 10 to 25 lbs.) may be required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
