Special Education Teacher -Moderate Cognitive Impairment

Job Summary (List Format): MoCI Special Education Teacher (2026-27 School Year)
- Teach and support a caseload of 8-10 high school students (grades 9-12) with moderate cognitive impairments.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's goals and needs.
- Provide differentiated instruction based on individual learning abilities.
- Collect and document student progress monitoring data regularly.
- Collaborate with service providers, paraprofessionals, administrators, and families to support student success.
- Maintain compliance with IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and district special education requirements.
- Create and foster a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Hold a valid Michigan Special Education certification with Cognitive Impairment (SA or CI) endorsement.
- Prefer candidates with prior experience working with students with cognitive impairments.
- Demonstrate strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
