In this full-time position, you’ll provide vital support to middle school students with individualized needs, taking the lead on lesson planning, collaborating with fellow educators, and playing an integral part in developing and implementing students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). What We’re Seeking:

• Valid state of Michigan endorsement as a Special Education Teacher
• Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher at the middle school level
• Skilled in designing lessons for students with learning disabilities
• Understanding of IEP processes and collaborative best practices
• Ability to consult, mentor, and support other special education professionals
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve one middle school with a full-time schedule from 7:40am–2:43pm
• Guide and support other special education teachers in lesson and intervention planning
• Participate actively in IEP meetings and ensure the needs of each student are met
• Collaborate with related services staff, general educators, and families
• Contribute to a supportive, inclusive, and high-expectation educational environment
• Help evaluate student progress and adapt strategies as needed
