Senior Accountant - Public Accounting

Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year

Location: This is an on-site role based in Ramsey, NJ. While the position is fully in-office, our team supports work-life balance with no mandatory Saturdays and a 4-day workweek from April 16 through December 31 each year.

Note: Candidates must have 4+ years of experience at a public accounting firm and a bachelor's degree in accounting. CPA, EA, or a Master's in Tax is a strong plus.

Job Description

• Prepare individual, partnership, corporate, and fiduciary tax returns
• Manage and assist with audit, review, and compilation engagements
• Handle interim and year-end closings, along with other accounting projects
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual bookkeeping engagements
• Work directly with clients and provide proactive, trusted service
• Manage client accounts independently while collaborating with firm leadership and team members
• Support a wide variety of tax, accounting, and advisory projects across different industries
• Identify opportunities to improve client service, strengthen relationships, and contribute to firm growth

Qualifications

• 4+ years of public accounting experience at a CPA firm
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• CPA, EA, or Master's in Tax preferred
• Experience with CCH Axcess, QuickBooks, and Caseware preferred
• Strong tax preparation, accounting, and client communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple client matters with accuracy and professionalism
• Self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working independently in a client-facing role
