The organization is guided by four core values: Communicate, Reliable, Team Player and Caring, with a focus on protecting its reputation, clients and operations while continuing to scale responsibly.We are seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to independently manage the company’s day-to-day financial operations, including payroll. This is a hands-on, full-scope position reporting directly to the CEO. You will own the books from end to end rather than working under a Controller. The role requires a high degree of trust, professionalism and discretion, including safeguarding confidential payroll, employee and financial information.Responsibilities include managing full-cycle bookkeeping, including AP, AR, general ledger and bank/credit card reconciliations; processing weekly payroll for all employees, including tax withholdings, garnishments and benefit deductions; producing monthly financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, and managing month-end close; managing vendor relationships and invoicing, including AIA billing/pay applications where applicable; tracking job costing across active projects in coordination with project management; maintaining compliance records, including certificates of insurance, workers comp, sales tax and other filings; supporting the CEO and outside CPA with year-end tax preparation and audits; and maintaining accurate, organized financial records and strong internal controls.Qualifications include 5+ years of Full Charge Bookkeeping experience, within construction or contracting; hands-on payroll experience using Paycom or a similar payroll system preferred (processed payroll for at least 90+ employees); proficiency with QuickBooks and Excel; strong understanding of job costing and construction accounting is required; high degree of accuracy, discretion and follow-through with the ability to work independently with minimal oversight; excellent organizational and communication skills; technology-minded with a willingness to leverage AI and automation tools to streamline workflows, improve accuracy and increase efficiency across accounting, payroll and administrative processes; notary public certification is a plus; and bilingual is a plus.Details & Benefits include location: Hauppauge, NY, on-site; schedule: full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM; reports to: CEO; compensation: $85,000-$105,000 annually, commensurate with experience; health insurance with the company contributing 50% of the employee-only premium; 2 weeks PTO plus a 1-week company shutdown; 6 paid company holidays; retirement savings plan through NYS Secure Choice; stable, growing organization with long-term career opportunities; supportive, collaborative team environment where contributions are valued; and opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a key role within the organization.
