Business Analyst

Job Summary

We are seeking a Business Analyst for a direct hire opportunity in San Juan, PR within the insurance industry. This role is ideal for a business analytics professional who enjoys transforming data into clear insights that support strategic decision-making, profitability analysis, underwriting performance, and portfolio management.

The Business Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to evaluate trends, risks, and opportunities while developing dashboards, reports, and analytical models that help leadership make informed business decisions. Key Responsibilities

- Analyze business, underwriting, and portfolio data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and performance drivers.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and analytical models using Power BI, SQL, and Excel.
- Evaluate profitability, business performance, and operational metrics to support strategic planning.
- Translate complex data findings into actionable insights and recommendations for management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on business analysis, reporting, budgeting, planning, and operational initiatives.
- Support ad hoc analysis and data-driven projects that improve visibility, decision-making, and business outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $50,000 to $65,000 per year.
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Location: San Juan, PR.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Analyze underwriting, portfolio, financial, and business performance data.
- Build dashboards, reports, and analytical models using Power BI, SQL, and Excel.
- Support budgeting, planning, profitability analysis, and strategic business initiatives.
- Present data-driven insights and recommendations to management and business partners.

- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in business analytics, data analytics, financial analytics, actuarial analytics, risk analytics, or a related analytical role.
- Advanced SQL, Excel, and Power BI skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate complex data clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate, timely analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in the insurance industry.
- Experience in financial services.
- Familiarity with underwriting performance, portfolio analysis, profitability analysis, or risk metrics.
