JOB TITLE/LOCATION: Account Specialist (Government Sales) – Santa Ana, CA

DESCRIPTION:

The Account Specialist engages customers by answering product and service questions, identifying needs, and recommending appropriate solutions while supporting multiple divisions. This role includes processing orders, preparing correspondence, and maintaining strong client relationships through timely follow-up and issue resolution.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

• Ensure accurate setup and maintenance of customer accounts, including validation of critical account data.
• Resolve complex product or service issues by identifying root causes, coordinating solutions, and ensuring full resolution.
• Collaborate with buyers, product specialists, engineering, quality, and accounting teams to address customer requirements, resolve issues, and ensure alignment across functions.
• Partner with accounting to support accurate invoices, payment processing, and resolution of discrepancies, including WAWF coordination.
• Analyze customer needs, feedback, and trends to recommend product, service, or process improvements to management.
• Prepare and interpret reports on customer activity, performance metrics, and satisfaction levels.
• Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with customers through proactive and effective communication.
• Manage escalated concerns by delivering timely, solution-oriented outcomes and ensuring proper follow-through.
• Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions and account activity for reporting, compliance, and business insights.
• Utilize systems and tools to efficiently manage high-volume interactions and support operational effectiveness.
• Work cross-functionally with internal departments to improve service delivery, product quality, and overall customer experience.
• Monitor customer satisfaction results and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

EDUCATION:

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 1-year related experience, and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ideally should have previous manufacturing experience in a similar role.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Strong active listening skills with the ability to accurately assess customer needs and identify underlying issues.
• High level of patience and professionalism when managing complex, high-pressure, or escalated customer situations.
• In-depth product and service knowledge, with the ability to quickly learn and communicate technical information across multiple divisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, buyers, product specialists, engineering, quality, and accounting teams.
• Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, including the ability to analyze issues, determine root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Proficiency with business systems and technology, including CRM platforms, ERP systems, and tools required to manage high-volume transactions and WAWF processes.
• Attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records, validate data, and ensure compliance with company and customer requirements.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build strong working relationships with internal departments to drive issue resolution and process improvements.
• Analytical skills to interpret customer data, identify trends, and support reporting and decision-making.
• Time management and organizational skills to effectively balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Adaptability and flexibility to respond to changing customer needs, business demands, and process updates.
• Positive, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality customer experiences and continuous improvement.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee generally works indoors within the office and manufacturing areas. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate or loud. Also, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or to hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

This role is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which requires the incumbent to be either a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident [“green card” holders] or have refugee or asylee status.

**Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. The pay range represents the low and high end of the salary range we reasonably expect to pay for this position at the time of posting. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, education, skills, qualifications, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Pay Range: $23.00 to $30.00/hour.
