Tech - MLT/Medical Technologist/Clinical Lab Scientist

Job Description

Job Summary:
Performs specimen processing, test execution, and result reporting within a clinical laboratory setting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Operates in multiple lab sections, including microbiology, chemistry, hematology, and blood bank, under supervisory guidance.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and incubate bacterial cultures using sterile media according to protocol.
• Prepare solutions, reagents, and stains while adhering to standard procedures.
• Maintain detailed documentation of tests performed and report results to appropriate personnel.
• Recognize and respond to quality control shifts and trends, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to interpret and communicate abnormal or critical results timely.
• Follow all safety and regulatory policies to ensure quality and compliance in laboratory operations.

Qualifications:

• Hold an Associate's Degree in medical laboratory technology; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Possess current certification from ASCP or AMT or equivalent credential.
• Have a minimum of two years recent experience as a Medical Technologist or in a hospital laboratory setting.
• Maintain current BLS certification and appropriate licensure as required by the state.
• Demonstrate knowledge of laboratory policies, procedures, and quality control practices.
