Bid Manager

Role Overview The Bid Manager coordinates the actors, events, and processes needed for excellence in our opportunity capture where written sales (proposals) are required. They possess a deep understanding of the business development lifecycle and the behaviors, actions, and environments that drive success. Responsibilities Manage the end‑to‑end bid process from opportunity identification to contract closure. Lead virtual bid teams and coordinate inputs from key stakeholders, including sales, solutions, marketing, product teams, finance, commercial, legal, and project management/delivery. Track and manage risk throughout the bid process. Collaborate with Solution Architects and Commercial Managers to provide comprehensive, winnable, competitive, and sustainable commercial and technical solutions. Own a pipeline of future bid opportunities within a sales or solution area to ensure Strada sales are fully supported. Conduct Win:Loss debriefs to recycle information from post‑to‑pre‑bid processes. Support Strada qualification, competitive analyses, and best‑practice initiatives as needed. Ensure bid opportunities adhere to Strada’s qualification standards, playbook, and compliance milestones. Maintain and present up‑to‑date opportunity compliance and positioning to senior leadership or partners. Collect and collate company‑wide and external content relevant to winning opportunities, extending it to sales and solutions when possible. Act as proposal manager for smaller or simpler opportunities or when a dedicated proposal manager is unavailable. Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of professional development aligned with global best practice standards. Coach the opportunity team through pre‑ and post‑proposal periods, including presales meetings, presentations, negotiations, and other engagement activities. Develop individual bid budgets and perform ROI calculations alongside the Manager; support regular reporting on opportunity effectiveness. Deliver training to the Global Bid Management team and external stakeholders. Embed Win:Loss, competitive, and landscape information into pre‑ and post‑bid processes to support continuous improvement. Maintain the bid and opportunity process library and contribute to the wider Sales Operations and business improvement catalogue. Escalate potential risks and emerging crises within Bid Operations as required. Represent Strada externally at customer and partner meetings as needed. Qualifications Minimum of two (2) years in a Bid or Proposal Management position with measurable success; waived for junior roles with suitable experience. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience. Accreditation to APMP Practitioner (Capture) or equivalent highly desirable. Progression through a Bids & Proposals Apprenticeship viewed favorably. Proven leadership skills, including delegation, conflict management, and stakeholder engagement, and a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development. Experience working in live opportunity environments, possibly including quota‑carrying sales experience. Systems experience with an Opportunity Management system (e.g., Responsive, DigiWorkz, Highspot), CRM (Salesforce preferred), and reporting tools (PowerBI or Salesforce preferred). Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office. Exceptional presentation and communication skills. Knowledge of international public bidding pipelines. Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities, capable of interfacing at all levels of Strada and with external partners or customers.
