Commercial Lines Account Manager – New Business & Account Growth Compensation: competitive base + bonus on new and cross-sold premium About us Limn Risk Advisors is an independent commercial insurance agency. We’re appointed with a number of carriers and serve all industries. We’re a small team that’s growing, and you’ll work directly with ownership. The role You’ll own commercial accounts from the first prospect conversation to bound coverage, and then keep growing them. The job combines technical account management, carrier marketing, and consultative sales. This isnot a cold-prospecting producer role Leads come from inbound, referrals, and ownership. Your job is to turn them into well-placed, well-serviced clients. It’s a good fit for an Account Manager or Account Executive who enjoys both the coverage work and the client conversations. What you’ll do Be the main contact for commercial prospects and your assigned book Gather exposure, loss history, and underwriting information, then build complete, accurate submissions Match accounts to the right carriers by appetite, market them across standard and E&S markets, and keep after underwriters Compare quotes on terms, exclusions, limits, deductibles, and premium, and negotiate coverage and pricing Build proposals, present recommendations, and ask for the business Coordinate binders, applications, signatures, and premium finance through implementation Manage renewals and remarketing, using pre-renewal reviews to catch exposure changes and coverage gaps Round out accounts and cross-sell (property, GL, auto, WC, umbrella, cyber, EPLI, and more) Build lasting relationships with underwriters and carrier reps to keep markets open Keep clean, complete documentation in our AMS and follow compliance and E&O procedures What you bring Active Property & Amausal; Casualty license (required) 3+ years of commercial lines experience, ideally at an independent agency or brokerage Hands-on experience preparing and managing new business and renewal submissions Strong working knowledge of property, GL, workers’ comp, commercial auto, and umbrella Ability to explain coverage differences in plain English to business owners Comfort making recommendations and asking for the business Organization and self-direction: you can juggle multiple submissions and renewals without being chased Experience with carrier portals and an agency management system Nice to have Experience with AMS systems Existing carrier relationships and knowledge of regional and national appetites What success looks like in year one Submissions go out complete and on time, and quote turnaround gets faster More qualified prospects convert to bound clients Retention holds strong and policies per account go up Underwriters see you as a go-to contact Account files are clean enough that anyone could pick one up What we offer Competitive base plus bonus on new and cross-sold premium Health, dental, vision · PTO and holidays Paid licensing, CE, and designation support Direct access to ownership and a clear path to producer or leadership roles Limn Risk Advisors is an equal opportunity employer.
