Digital Scholarship Librarian

Reed College seeks a collaborative, student-oriented librarian to provide leadership with digital scholarship, data-intensive research, and quantitative-focused liaison areas. In this position, you will oversee the electronic thesis submission process, participate in digital collections support, and collaborate on digital scholarship initiatives. You will work closely with students, faculty, and library staff across disciplines, leading support for data-driven research, data-intensive coursework, and finding and using data sets. The Digital Scholarship librarian is a research and instruction librarian, serving as subject liaison to departments focused on the use of data and quantitative analysis. One of 6 liaison librarians in the highly collaborative Research Services department, you'll work on an intensely student-focused team responsible for academic support, instruction, and outreach. This position reports to the Director of Research Services.

The starting salary for this position is between $67k-$77k. Pay offers are contingent upon experience and are determined through an internal pay assessment. This is an exempt position in grade 7.

What You'll Do

• Serve as primary liaison to departments focused on the use of data and quantitative analysis (i.e. Statistics, Economics, etc.) actively developing collaborative relationships with faculty and consulting with students..
• Provide leadership and coordination for data-driven research, data-intensive coursework, and finding and using data across disciplines, especially in sciences and social sciences.
• Serve as the library's representative to the campus View email address on us.fitly.work team.
• Provide guidance on data management planning, data literacy, and the ethical use of data to support students, faculty, and campus stakeholders.
• Oversee the Reed College thesis electronic submission process, creating workflows and documentation, coordinating with library and campus partners, and developing outreach events and materials.
• Collaborate on identifying strategic digital initiatives in areas such as scholarly communication, institutional repositories, and open educational resources.
• In coordination with library colleagues, provide guidance on responsible AI use, including critical information literacy, attribution, bias, copyright, and academic integrity.
• Develop and manage electronic and print collections to support the research and teaching needs of the community.

• Collaboratively develop and participate in library outreach and engagement programs. 
• Develop and maintain subject-based online research guides and support citation management best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

• ALA-accredited MLS/MLIS or relevant advanced degree and minimum of 2 years of professional, relevant library experience.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating on digital initiatives or finding and managing research data.
• Experience teaching information literacy principles and practices.
