Field Application Scientist - Flow Cytometry (SoCal Area)
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc
Field Application Scientist supporting flow cytometry customers across Southern California. The role combines scientific expertise with customer-facing support, including training, troubleshooting, and workflow optimization for academic and commercial research organizations. Requires 75% travel within the territory.
Responsibilities
- Deliver pre- and post-sale scientific support and training to customers via onsite visits, virtual meetings, and workshops
- Consult on experimental design, panel design, assay development, and data interpretation for flow cytometry applications
- Troubleshoot complex workflow and scientific challenges related to flow cytometry instruments and methodologies
- Partner with sales, product management, and technical teams to support product evaluations and demonstrations
- Represent company at scientific conferences and customer events; communicate customer feedback to internal teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, biology, or related field
- Strong knowledge of flow cytometry principles, instrumentation, and applications
- Experience with multicolor panel design, compensation, and data analysis
- Excellent communication skills for customer training and scientific presentations
- Ability to travel approximately 75% of the time within Southern California region
- Proficiency troubleshooting complex scientific and technical issues
