Provides electrical services within an organization, including the installation, maintenance, repair, and alteration of electrical wired circuits and apparatus used for the transmission of electrical energy for light, heat, and power purposes.

Schedule: Mon-Fri 4:20PM-12:20AM

**Must Pass YARC (Yale Animal Resource Center) Clearance. Form requirements are available at 221 Whitney Ave. This form is filed with the Health Plan in a confidential file folder specific to employees who work at YSM Buildings. Offer is contingent upon successful health screening.

Principal Responsibilities

• Performs assignments under limited supervision.
• Directs the work of employees under the direction of the supervisor.
• Under the direction of the supervisor, assumes general responsibility for the completion of assignments.
• Determines the manpower and material requirements and the means and methods to be used in accomplishing work assignments and recommends changes.
• Secures materials, supplies and equipment.
• Installs, erects, maintains, alters or repairs any wire, cable conduit, bus way, raceway, support, insulator, conductor, appliance, apparatus, fixture or equipment which generates, transforms, transmits or uses electrical energy for light, heat, power or other purposes (including protection of electrical circuits and switch gears).
• Maintains clean work area and/or cleans job site.
• Trains lower labor grade employees using various training methods.
• Observes safety standards and practices.
• Performs related duties as required or assigned within job classification.

Required Education and Experience

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Required License(s) or Certification(s)

• Possess valid CT E2 license.
• OSHA 10.
• Driver's license valid in the State of CT.

Physical Requirements

• Climbs ladders and scaffolding in excess of eight (8) feet and rides and works from mechanical lifts.
• Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling and/or squatting.
• Works in confined areas.
• Sustained overhead work.
• Works outside in all types of weather.
• Moves both arms and shoulders in full and extended motion while working with heavy tools.
• Moves, assembles, lifts or carries furniture, equipment, tools and materials of up to fifty (50) pounds without assistance.
• Drives.

Location: 60 College Street, New Haven, Connecticut
