Inventory and Buying Lead

Chicagoland Area (Hybrid/Onsite – details shared upon conversation) I’m currently partnering with a growing organization looking to add an experienced Inventory & Buying Lead to their team. This is a high-impact role focused on optimizing ordering, inventory flow, and retail fulfillment operations—particularly within a big box retail environment. If you enjoy owning the end-to-end logistics strategy while working cross-functionally with retail partners and 3PLs, this could be a great fit. What You’ll Be Doing Lead day-to-day logistics operations across transportation, warehousing, inventory, and order fulfillment Manage ordering and forecasting alignment with major retail partners (Walmart experience highly preferred) Serve as a key point of contact with external buying teams and internal stakeholders Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels Partner with 3PL providers to ensure seamless operations and negotiate service agreements Lead and develop a small team, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven environment What They’re Looking For Experience supporting big box retail accounts (Walmart strongly preferred) Strong background in inventory management, logistics, and supply chain operations Proven ability to lead initiatives and improve operational performance Excellent communication skills and ability to manage external relationships Hands‑on, proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement Why This Role?
