SPECIALIST

Overview Position: AR/AP Specialist Location: Middletown, Ohio Reports To: Accounting Manager Job Type: Full-time, on-site Join a Century of Innovation and Impact. Responsibilities Accounts receivable and accounts payable tasks, including invoicing, payments, and reconciliations. Customer service: greet customers, respond to inquiries related to scrap metal services, assist with material drop-off and pickup scheduling, and maintain positive relationships with customers including pricing and services information. Cash handling: handle cash, checks, and electronic payments in accordance with company policies; balance cash drawer daily; reconcile transactions; prepare deposits; maintain accurate cash handling records and report discrepancies. Administrative duties: process transactions (weighing and pricing scrap metal loads); maintain accurate records of materials, pricing, and payments; create and manage invoices to ensure timely billing and payment processing. Data management: input and update customer and inventory data; generate reports on scrap metal sales, customer activities, and inventory levels; maintain physical and digital filing systems. Communication: coordinate with the operations team to relay customer requests and provide operational updates. Compliance and safety: adhere to company policies, safety standards, and environmental regulations; maintain a clean and organized office environment. Physical requirements: cross-train to assist the yard as needed; may need to stand or sit for extended periods; work outside in all weather conditions; lifting up to 50 lbs; forklift experience is a plus. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business administration is a plus. Previous experience in an office environment, preferably within recycling or manufacturing. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with database management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
