Inside Sales Account Manager

Description

At Sheffield Metals, the Inside Account Manager is more than just an inside sales role. This position plays a key part in our branch success by working in close partnership with the outside sales team, technical department, and management to drive growth and profitability.

As an Inside Account Manager, you will act as a trusted resource for both customers and internal stakeholders-responding to inbound inquiries, providing exceptional customer service, and actively supporting business development efforts. You will help execute the Company's strategic vision of becoming the Brand of Choice by increasing customer retention and attraction through responsiveness, accuracy, and value-added support. You will earn commission!

In this role, you'll also:

• Analyze market data and generate reports to support gross margin and pricing strategies
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure seamless production flow and Operational Excellence
• Manage inbound and outbound workflows related to production, freight, and quality control
• Support coordination between internal processors and external partners to ensure job completion and customer satisfaction

This is a customer-facing, business-focused position designed for someone who enjoys problem-solving, building relationships, and contributing to a high-performing team.

Requirements

• Respond to customer's and outside sales requests in "real time" for price quotations, order entry and placement and communicate order status to customer and outside sales
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers to ensure proper support and provide a positive customer experience to instill confidence and comfort in every transaction
• Prepare quotes, order entry, resolve queries and manage production on orders utilizing the ERP system
• Serve as a liaison with outside sales, purchasing and the toll processor to expedite orders and meet delivery dates
• Plan, organize and coordinate with management to pre-qualify bids over $3,000 for Project or Contract Management
• Utilize the Company's customer relationship management (CRM) system to maintain complete call records and valid customer/account information which supports increased product sales goals
• Coordinate delivery times with production and Operations Lead in order to achieve customer satisfaction when normal lead times are not adequate
• Work with vendors to obtain information regarding pricing and specifications to complete and execute on project deliverables
• Demonstrate an expertise in collaborating with multiple functions, including sales partners, internal business partners, and acts with a sense of urgency on customer feedback
• Participate in various projects with the Technical Department related to account specific or special product and project opportunities
• Assist in management of both freight and warranty claims
