You will serve as a subject matter expert in at least one area of claims auditing, providing guidance and expertise to support colleagues and ensure consistency and quality across all audit activities.**Location:** This position will be **remote** and may be based in any of the following states: **Kansas, Iowa, Montana, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota, Colorado, Minnesota, or Nebraska**. We strive for collaboration which is why we offer a work environmentwhere our employees thrive and develop long lasting careers.**Our business, your impact, our opportunity:****What you’ll be doing:*** Accurately and efficiently audit and process crop insurance claims to meet quality, compliance, and production standards.* Communicate with underwriters, adjusters, agents, and producers to ensure timely resolution of claim-related issues.* Work independently and collaboratively to identify issues, evaluate solutions, and recommend appropriate resolutions.* Research and interpret policy guidance and reference materials, including Loss Adjustment Manuals (LAM), policy provisions, Standard Operating Procedures, and other internal resources.* Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and internal policies and procedures in all claim activities.* Handle a range of crop claims, including moderate to advanced complexity.* Investigate and resolve complex claims issues with limited supervision while maintaining accuracy and consistency.**What you’ll bring:*** 5+ years of crop insurance experience preferred.* Proven experience in crop insurance claims auditing and processing preferred.* Strong understanding of Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) policies and ability to apply them in practice preferred.* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general technical/computer systems.* Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across internal teams and external partners.**Physical Requirements & Work Conditions**Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Ability to stand or sit constantly/continuously.Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.Visual: The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.**Environmental Conditions**The work environment described here are meant to be representative of those an employee would normally encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.The physical environment requires the employee to work inside where there are limited extremes to heat and/or cold; moderate noise; a normal office environment.Travel required for meetings and trainings.**Salary Range:** $55,000 – $68,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.At Sompo, we recognize that the talent, skills, and commitment of our employees drive our success.
