What Makes This Role Different

At Gateway, the Superintendent is the leader of the jobsite; not just monitoring subcontractors or maintaining a schedule but owning the day-to-day execution of the project. Working closely with the Project Manager, you'll be the primary field leader for trade partners, designers, owners, inspectors, and the broader project team.

Protect quality, schedule, and client expectations while representing Gateway with professionalism from mobilization through closeout.

What You'll Do

• Own the day-to-day execution of the jobsite, planning and sequencing work to keep the project moving

• Lead subcontractors, coordinate trades, and maintain project schedules and 3-week lookaheads

• Review drawings and project specifications, identifying conflicts before they become problems

• Coordinate inspections and jurisdictional requirements

• Perform daily jobsite walkthroughs, catching and resolving issues before they impact schedule

• Manage quality, safety, and logistics; conduct quality assurance and safety audits

• Hold and document weekly toolbox talks with all workers onsite

• Lead Project Kickoff meetings with the PM team and attend monthly Superintendents meetings

• Complete detailed daily reports with photos and maintain accurate job site documentation

• Drive punch, closeout, and successful project completion

• Provide input on job evaluations, disciplinary matters, and promotion decisions for job site staff

• Represent Gateway professionally with clients, designers, inspectors, and trade partners

What You Bring

• Four-year construction-related degree, or 7+ years hands-on commercial construction experience with at least 5 years as a commercial Superintendent

• Ability to coordinate all means and methods to ensure a successful project, with strong leadership to keep the jobsite safe and clean

• Experience self-performing dimensional layout, general carpentry, and concrete prep work, and supervising all trades

• Solid understanding of project documents, subcontracts, and schedules

• Highly organized with strong oral and written communication skills

• Self-motivated team player able to adapt to jobsite challenges

• Valid driver's license required

• OSHA 30 preferred

• Procore experience a plus

This role requires travel between jobsites and regular exposure to outdoor construction environments, including extreme temperatures and physically demanding work. Some on-call availability for weather, emergencies, and evening or Saturday work is required.
