Weekly Schedule: 36 Hours
Certifications/Licenses:

• ACLS, BLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC), NIHSS*, ONS/ONCC

Mandatory Experience:

• Acute Leukemia and Hematology
• CHEMO CERTIFICATION REQUIRED!!!
• Experience: Must have MS oncology and at least 1 inpatient hematology oncology experience in work history and checklist. A minimum of two years of overall nursing experience is required
• Patient Age Group: Adults, Geriatrics
• Patient Diagnoses: Primarily care for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients
• Medical unit - high number of blood products, IV antibiotics and electrolytes.
• Certifications Required:
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • ONS Chemo Cert
• Certifications Preferred: NIHSS
• Skills Required:
  • MS/Tele
  • Telemetry
  • Interpretation of dysrhythmias
  • Telemetry monitoring
  • Use of Rapid Response Teams
  • Feeding tube care and management
  • IV therapy/Phlebotomy
  • Blood Product Administration
  • Central line blood draw
  • Peripheral Line Care/Management
  • PICC line management
  • Starting IVs
• Computerized Charting: EPIC
