Building Maintenance SpecialistThe Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) is currently searching for a qualified and reliable Building Maintenance Specialist to routinely be involved on a daily basis in many different types of duties and tasks of general facility maintenance, repair and construction to include preventative maintenance and assignments as well as but not limited to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, kitchen equipment repairs and utility service system at the Arizona State Prison Complex – Tucson.Join the Department of Corrections, and take your career to the next level!Job Duties:Schedules and plans maintenance-related projects to include pricing, material list, equipment and needsPerforms maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks as required and scheduledCompletes related documentation as required by policy and as directed by supervisorBasic knowledge of office equipment to include computers, internet research and completion of documentsInspects and maintains tools and equipment to ensure proper working order and all are accounted forSupervises and evaluates inmate worker's performanceAttends staff meetings and training as requiredDrives on State businessPerforms other duties appropriate to the assignmentKnowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of:Structural issues regarding building and utility service systems, including blueprints, safety practices, and codesTrades, e.g., electrical, electronic, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, general facility maintenance, preventive maintenance, etc.Budgeting to include estimating costs and ordering materialsCommon and specialized tools and equipment for performing dutiesOccupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and national and local building codes/regulationsSkill in:Reading of blueprints, schematics, and general constructionMechanical devices, electrical, preventative maintenanceUsing and demonstrating the use of common and specialized toolsWritten and verbal communicationAbility to:Lift/Carry up to 50lbsPush/Pull up to 50lbsWalk/Run up to 0.25 milesWork in a prison environmentSupervise inmate work crewsSelective Preference(s): On-the-job training as a technical or generalized maintenance staff person, High school diploma or GED equivalent, Education which includes technical training, Specialized trade schools and unionsPre-Employment Requirements: Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation, drug test, and a medical/physical examination.
