That ownership mindset drives our culture, our quality, and our commitment to continuous improvement.Build your career where ownership, pride, and performance come standard!Welder/Fitter - $2,000 Hiring BonusPay Range: $22-28 based on experience and skills.Overall SummaryUnder direct supervision - Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.Essential Job FunctionsProficient in assigned welding techniques such as MIG weldingInterpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbolsKnowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materialsWorking knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)Conventional and precision measuring instrumentsProcess inspection, certification, and documentationWelding equipment maintenanceFinish grinding applications using manual and power toolsRegular attendance and punctualitySafety and housekeepingOther duties as assigned by the area supervisorRequired Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesSuccessful completion of an internal welding test, and the ability to achieve certificationCommunicates effectively both verbally and in writingGood math and measurement skillsAbility to read and understand engineering drawingsAbility to manage several projects simultaneouslyAble to bend, reach, push, pull and put parts into positions for welding.Able to lift 50-lbs. from a floor or bench level to a welding table or fixture.Education and ExperienceHigh School diploma, or equivalentOne year experience in various forms of welding, preferably in a job shop environmentPhysical RequirementsMust be able to lift up to 50lbs frequently throughout the day, depending on work related circumstances.Must be able to lift objects from floor to above shoulder level and be able to lift from lying position on back overhead. Must be able to move objects/parts/tools and equipment from one area to another and one level to another.This position includes the following physical demands:Extending and pulling the hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction while working with various tools as mentioned before.Seizing, holding, rasping, turning, pulling, or otherwise working with hands and arms.Using arms in such a way as pulling of tools, wrenches, parts, and equipment to complete the job.Picking, pinching, or otherwise working with fingers primarily (rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling).Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of timeAbility to climb up and down trucks, steps, and ladders safety.Elliott Equipment Company is an equal opportunity employer.
