Role Overview

The Accounting Manager position is a hands-on role, responsible for accounting functions for multiple clients that include full-cycle month-end close, accounts receivable and payable, payroll, and tax compliance. The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the general on-chain and off-chain accounting for clients, assisting with the creation of financial statements and management reporting, managing the organization's cash, and assisting with the creation of departmental budgets and forecasts. Experience with developing and establishing policies and procedures within a corporation is highly preferred. The ideal candidate has worked at or with early-stage start-ups.

The position location is flexible/work from home, with preference given to candidates in the following cities where Attivo has an employee presence: New York City, Austin, and Boston. Candidates in other locations are welcome to apply. Some travel to in-person company events is required, approximately 2-3 weeks out of the year. In-person onboarding training will take place within the first 3 months of employment (locations vary).

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly financial statements and budget vs actual analysis
• Assist with financial modeling and forecasting for clients
• Utilize on-chain accounting tools to streamline processes and improve data accuracy
• Manage Accounts Receivable - which includes invoicing, collections, reviewing contracts
• Manage Accounts Payable - which includes ensuring accurate entry, timely payment, and compliance with company policies
• Manage Token Accounting - which includes token warrants and token compensation
• Process employee onboarding, payroll, and terminations
• Mentor and train future team members

Requirements

• Solid understanding of GAAP, CPA or CFA preferred
• Advanced+ Excel and ability to manipulate larger data sets; experience with SQL a +
• Experience with crypto accounting software (e.g. Bitwave, Integral) and reconciliation of on-chain transactions
• Experience with standard software solutions: QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, Campfire, Brex, Ramp, Rippling, Gusto, Rillet, Carta
• Excellent written and verbal communication, comfortable with basic Web3 vocabulary
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Independent judgment and decision-making
• Ability to manage multiple projects/priorities at a time
• Professional curiosity & creativity for Web3 innovation and financial transformation
• Passionate desire to learn & for continuous improvement
• Experience implementing workflow automation or AI-enabled tools preferred. Familiarity with generative AI tools and automation platforms strongly preferred.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. CPA or CFA is a plus
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role; multi-client experience highly preferred
• 2+ years of recent experience at a Web3 company or crypto native. If you do not have professional experience, please share the ecosystem within blockchain & crypto that you are excited about and why, in your resume or in a short cover memo.

Salary Range

Attivo offers a competitive base plus bonus, and opportunities for advancement. The starting salary range for Accounting Manager is approximately $110,000 to $140,000 per year plus bonus.
