Prominent Plaintiffs' Medical Malpractice law firm has an immediate opening for a Legal Assistant with 3+ years of Plaintiff-side Litigation experience to join their team. This is a full-time, in-office position in Southfield, Michigan.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of plaintiff-side litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice and/or personal injury.
Responsibilities :
- Preparation of legal pleadings.
- Filing of documents with all courts.
- Effectuating service of process.
- Day to day support of attorneys.
- Review and docketing of daily mail.
- Managing attorney calendaring, including scheduling of attorney conferences, depositions, meetings.
- Answering of Firm telephone calls.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant for Plaintiff-side Medical Malpractice/Personal Injury Attorneys.
- Prior experience e-filing in state and federal courts.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and relevant court rules and procedures.
- Immense attention to detail.
- Disciplined with ability to work independently.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, Power Point, Excel and Word. Needles or Neos is a plus!
- Strong organization and analytical skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize workload effectively.
- Professional demeanor and customer service skills.
- Understanding of the importance of maintaining client confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in the legal profession.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, supporting attorneys and other colleagues.
