This role operates within a hybrid development model, managing overarching phase gate milestones and fixed deliverable commitments while executing development activities within an iterative/incremental delivery environment. The role is accountable for ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, meeting or exceeding project and product requirements, and occurring within the approved development cost limits. This position reports directly to the VP of Program Office.Our Project Managers are decisive, take calculated risks, and find ways to achieve goals within established time, scope and budget parameters. Biamp is an environment that avoids bureaucracy, "waiting on ...", analysis paralysis, or CYA mindsets, and we look forward to hearing from those with like beliefs.How you’ll contribute:Accountable for meeting all aspects of the project's top-level Time, Scope, and Budget from concept through production releaseLead cross-functional FW/SW teams consisting of firmware engineers, software engineers, QA/test engineers, DevOps, and systems architects, while coordinating with HW, ME, and Manufacturing stakeholders to manage dependencies across parallel teams and integration pointsManage, maintain, and translate phase gate milestones and fixed deliverables and serve as the bridge between executive stakeholders (phase gate reporting) and project teams (development execution)Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and present recovery options with clear trade-off analysis before they become escalationsEnsure clear communication of project goals, strategy, and status within the project team and up to Executive ManagementYou’ll also support with:Building collaborative relationships both internally and externallyProactively identifying and acting on opportunities for improvement across all organizationsContinuously refining the hybrid methodology, identifying opportunities to improve the interface between phase gate governance and iterative developmentParticipating in continuous improvement projects and process development of the Program OfficeOther duties as assignedA successful candidate should have:5-7+ years of FW/SW NPD/I Project Management experience, with demonstrated experience overseeing Agile/Scrum environmentsStrong understanding of FW/SW development lifecycles, including embedded firmware, application software, and/or cloud/connected product developmentExperience managing projects in a hybrid development model (Phase Gate + Agile Scrum)Experience managing firmware/software integration with hardware platformsFamiliarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similarFamiliarity with tracking and forecasting techniques applicable to iterative development (e.g. burndown, velocity)Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, code branching, and software release management conceptsDemonstrated cross-functional team leadership including managing 3rd party contractors and vendorsExcellent problem identification, resolution option determination, and implementation of solutionsAbility to understand and interpret data in driving decisive actionProficient with productivity and project management tools (e.g. Microsoft Office, MS Project), and actively embraces emerging technologies to improve delivery outcomesPossesses excellent verbal and written communication skillsAble to multi-task in a dynamic work environment while maintaining strong attention to detailAbility to work independently and in a team environmentWork Environment:Ability to lift 10 lbs. frequently and up to 25 lbs. occasionallyAbility to stand or sit for long periodsAbility to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required in designated areasWhat we offer:Medical, Dental, and Vision3 weeks annual PTO and 9 paid holidays401(k) + matchingEmployer-paid base life insurance, short, and long-term disabilityHealth savings accounts (with Biamp contribution) and flexible spending accountsTuition reimbursementCharitable donation matchingDiscretionary company achievement bonusReferral bonusesWho is Biamp?We make the world’s most extraordinary audio and video solutions.
