Assistant Transportation Manager

PIERGALLINI TRUCKING LLC is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Transportation Manager to join our team in Cadiz, OH. Assist in overseeing daily transportation and fleet operations to ensure on-time delivery and compliance Work with Lead Mechanic to monitor fleet maintenance schedules, inspections, and DOT compliance requirements Serve as a point of contact for drivers, addressing concerns, providing schedules, providing operational support and ensuring adherence to company policies and safety regulations. Post schedule daily in company time keeping application Assist with the track and management of vehicle registrations, permits, insurance documentation, and driver files Coordinate with other business locations for transportation/delivery needs Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal team members daily to schedule freight and ensure timely deliveries Maintain accurate records of fleet activity, fuel usage, mileage, and operational costs Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to increase fleet efficiency Address unexpected issues such as vehicle breakdowns, route changes, or delays promptly to maintain smooth operations Assist in acquiring new vehicles and disposing of retired assets according to company policy DOT inspections, state safety inspections, and emissions testing as required Draft quotes for customers and stay up to date of pricing and permitting Performs other duties and responsibilities required by business conditions or as assigned by Management Previous experience in trucking, logistics, or transportation management preferred Excellent communication skills for coordinating with drivers, staff, and customers Proficiency with transportation management software (TMS) or dispatch systems is a plus Clean Driving Record CDL license or hands-on trucking experience is a strong advantage PIERGALLINI TRUCKING LLC is a trusted name in the trucking and transportation industry, proudly serving the Cadiz, OH area and beyond.
