Associate Attorney

Job Description Boggia, Boggia, & Betesh is a full-service Bergen County law firm whose attorneys have represented government entities and corporations for almost 50 years. Our attorneys are prominent figures in municipal and land‑use law, and serve as municipal counsel for several towns throughout northern and central New Jersey. Our specialties include municipal representation, tax appeal defense, litigation and serving as defense counsel to municipal engineering firms. We are seeking a first‑year associate to assist with our municipal, tax appeal and litigation practices. The job description includes the following: Drafting resolutions, ordinances, motions and briefs Communicating with municipal clients and elected officials Reviewing OPRA requests and assisting with drafting responses Reviewing municipal bid documents Assisting in tax appeal defense Performing research on municipal matters and drafting legal memorandums Assisting in litigation filed by/against municipal entities in State and Federal Court. Assisting in litigation defense against corporations in State and Federal Court. Making court appearances either in person or virtually Attending Mayor & Council and other evening meetings a few nights monthly. The successful candidate must have strong organization, research and brief writing skills, as well as strong communication skills and the ability to provide prompt responses to assignments. A NJ driver’s license and car for travel are required. Prior experience interning for local government is a plus, but not required. The position is full‑time and in‑person.
