For more information, please see WAC 357-19-195. The Washington State Office of Equity is seeking a courageous and unapologetic champion of equity and anti-racism to advance belonging and justice across Washington, joining our team as our Statewide Impact Consultant. We desire a colleague who questions what is, to help find solutions for what can be.
We're looking for a Statewide Impact Consultant who is a thoughtful, experienced professional to partner with state agencies to make meaningful, lasting changes in how government works—so that everyone has fair access to opportunities and resources. This role is centered on advancing equity across state government by helping reduce disparities and improve outcomes for communities across Washington.
A key part of the work involves leading complex, cross-agency projects—bringing people together, managing competing priorities, and helping organizations navigate change in a way that is thoughtful and sustainable. This is a role for someone who is comfortable working across systems, values relationship-building, and is committed to supporting government in better serving all communities.
This position specifically develops processes and resources for and provides technical assistance to the Washington State Patrol (WSP) to help them strengthen diversity, equity, and inclusion in their workforce as directed through Substitute House Bill 2057 (2022) and RCW 43.06D.060. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting WSP in developing, strategizing, and implementing all statewide and agency-specific goals per RCW 43.06D.040. The starting salary offer will be determined based on the successful candidates' qualifications within the budgeted salary range of $110,000 - $115,000 annually. This is a remote position with schedule flexibility that requires travel in Washington State for meetings, events, and on-site work. The frequency of on-site work varies based on business and operational needs. The Governor's Office may choose, but is not required, to employ individuals who reside outside of Washington on a case-by-case basis.

We believe Washingtonians are stronger together and that Washington can be a state where everyone has access to the opportunities, power, and resources they need to thrive. We believe a government of, by, and for the people, where government does its work with people instead of to them, is possible. We exist to advance a government that meets the unique needs of every community in Washington state by collaborating across agencies, branches, and sectors to create efficient and effective systems that advance a Washington for All.
