Payroll Coordinator — Part-Time

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing

• Assist with accurate and timely payroll processing, including wages, bonuses, and other compensation.

• Process wage garnishments, liens, and related deductions.

• Verify payroll entries and resolve discrepancies before processing.

Employee Records and Data Management

• Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including personal information, tax withholding elections, and compensation changes.

• Enter and update payroll information with a high level of accuracy.

• Protect confidential employee and payroll information.

Timekeeping

• Review timesheets and attendance records for accuracy and completeness.

• Coordinate with employees, supervisors, and relevant departments to resolve missing information and timekeeping discrepancies.

Payroll Compliance and Problem Resolution

• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly.

• Stay informed about applicable federal, state, and local payroll requirements.

• Support compliance with payroll tax obligations, wage and hour requirements, and internal procedures.

Reporting and Documentation

• Generate payroll reports for accounting, brokers, and other authorized stakeholders.

• Prepare and maintain accurate payroll documentation and supporting records.

Employee Support

• Respond to employee payroll questions professionally and promptly.

• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve payroll concerns and support efficient payroll operations.

Qualifications

• At least two years of payroll experience; multi-state payroll experience is a plus.

• Strong understanding of payroll processing, taxation, and compliance.

• Familiarity with federal, state, and local payroll requirements.

• Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Schedule and Availability

This part-time position averages approximately 20 hours per week . Hours may be scheduled as four hours per day, five days per week, or spread across fewer days based on payroll deadlines and business needs.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This position operates in a typical office setting and involves extended periods of desk work, computer and keyboard use, movement within the office, and communication by telephone and electronic systems.
