Job Details The Investment Associate is a newly-formed, key member of the investment team responsible in assisting sourcing, evaluating, executing, and monitoring investments across the portfolio. This role is appropriate for an experienced investment professional who is ready to take on substantial responsibility, lead manager relationships, and contribute meaningfully to portfolio construction decisions. The Investment Associate will work closely with the Office's external investment partners, leveraged as an extension of the team, while ensuring the Office retains decision-making authority and direct ownership of every manager relationship. The Investment Associate will have daily exposure working closely with the Deputy CIO and CIO to manage a highly-diversified portfolio of global public and private managers. He or she will also be relied upon to assist in the development of junior team members. He or she will also be relied upon to assist in the development of junior team members. Job Duties Manager Sourcing and Diligence Assist Managing Directors in sourcing, screening, and evaluation of new investment opportunities primarily supporting private equity (buyout, growth, venture), private credit (direct lending, opportunistic, specialty finance), real assets. Lead end-to-end due diligence on prospective managers, including investment, operational, legal, and reference review. Develop detailed investment memos and present recommendations to the CIO and Deputy CIO. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of managers and themes; maintain forward calendars for re-ups and new commitments. Portfolio Construction and Monitoring Contribute to private markets pacing models, vintage diversification, and sub-strategy allocation analysis. Monitor existing manager relationships, including ongoing performance review, attribution analysis, GP communications, and annual meetings. Evaluate co-investment and secondary opportunities sourced through the manager network. Track underlying portfolio company exposures, sector concentrations, and key risk factors across the private markets book. Research and Thought Leadership Develop deep expertise in sub-strategies and produce written research on market themes, structural trends, and emerging managers. Maintain competitive intelligence on peer endowments, foundations, and sophisticated institutional allocators. Represent the Office at industry conferences, GP annual meetings, and academic-investor forums. Team and External Partners Provide direction, coaching, and review for junior team members. Partner with the Operations and Performance team to ensure accurate capital calls, distributions, valuations, and reporting. Collaborate with the Office's external investment partners as an extension of the team, leveraging their scale and specialty expertise while ensuring the Office retains decision-making and direct ownership of GP relationships. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree 4 years seven years of relevant asset management experience at an endowment, foundation, OCIO, family office, fund-of-funds, consultant, or GP. Demonstrated track record of leading manager diligence from initial screen through investment committee approval. Strong financial modeling, valuation, and quantitative analytical skills; fluency interpreting LP and GP financials, fund-level cash flow projections, and partnership economics. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to write clear, objective investment memos. Sound judgment formed in logic; insatiable curiosity; intellectual honesty and the ability to form and defend independent views. Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree MBA, MSF, CFA (or demonstrably working toward it), or other advanced credentials Experience covering private markets strategies will be given preference. Demonstrated ability to source differentiated opportunities. Experience with co-investments and/or secondary transactions. Familiarity with portfolio analytics tools (e.g., Addepar, Burgiss, Cobalt/Cobalt LP, eFront, Solovis, Backstop). Additional Qualifications Physical Demands Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
