Our extensive Program of Work includes broad areas of Mission Engineering & Systems Integration, Strategic Advantage & Warfighter Support, and Operational Enablers to federal government and commercial entities across the defense and national security sectors. **Job Description:**Create and revise technical documents such as manuals, reports, brochures, or articles. The position research products, services, technology or concepts to be documented and easily understood by a broad audience. **Work Model:**Our people first culture prioritizes the benefits of flexibility and collaboration. The ability to meet across teams at the office and cross-pollinate information is critical to our success. **Responsibilities:**A Technical Writer researches, develops, and maintains clear, accurate technical documentation manuals, guides, and reports that translates complex products, systems, and processes for technical and non-technical audiences. They work with engineers, program managers, and subject matter experts to gather information and determine the right format for each audience. Their focus is producing polished, well-organized documentation that meets program requirements and supports user understanding.## Qualifications**Duties:*** Writes and edits technical documents including reference manuals and product manuals.* Writes and edits procedural documentation such as user guides and manuals.* Determines the type of publication that will best serve the project requirements.* Meets with engineers, programmers, and project managers to learn about specific products or processes.* Research product samples to fully understand product.* Assesses the audience needs for whom the technical and procedural documentation is intended; adjusts tone and technical terms used to meet those needs and to ensure understanding.* Plans writing processes and sets timelines and deadlines.* Creates or works with graphic designers to create diagrams, charts, and other visual aids to assist readers in understanding a product or process.* Gathers feedback from customers, designers, and manufacturers to improve technical documents.* Performs other related duties as assigned.Other Duties:Duties, responsibilities, and activities can change at any time based on position requirements. These changes will be communicated by your supervisor.**Supervisor Responsibilities:**None.**Clearance Required:**As a condition of employment, candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a favorably adjudicated Public Trust determination or Tier-1 equivalent, consistent with requirements set forth in U.S. law, federal regulation, and executive order. Applicants must be able to submit documentation establishing U.S. Person status upon hiring. All ISA employees are required to uphold and maintain the trustworthiness and suitability requirements of the U.S. federal government.**Experience Required:**Experience should include but is not limited to working knowledge of:* 7+ years writing and editing technical documentation* Experience translating complex information for general audiences* Skilled at gathering input from subject matter experts* Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat* Experience creating or coordinating diagrams and visual aids* Comfortable managing multiple documentation projects simultaneously* Strong understanding of document formatting and style standards* Experience incorporating stakeholder feedback into revisions* Familiarity with version control and document tracking processes* Prior experience supporting DoD or IC programs preferred* Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, or related field* Ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced environments* Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy* Experience writing for both technical and non-technical readers**Education:*** Bachelor’s degree in business administration, project management, or any other related field (Required).* For senior levels, certification (e.g., PMP) and relevant experience in a managerial position is an added advantage.**Certification:**None required.
