IT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN I

First Level Technical Support TechnicianProvide 1st level technical support to end users for the diagnosis and resolution of hardware and software-related issues within the City of Thomasville and other supported cities/organizations. Responsible for all client-side line of business applications.Essential Job FunctionsProvide 1st level technical support and resolution for computer problems related to hardware/software, applications, peripherals, and data connections.Responsible for all 1st level support for client-side line of business applications.Utilize ManageEngine ServiceDesk to log all support issues.Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve desktop computer and printer problems; correct and report any anomalies.Assist in the analysis of new software/hardware.Assist in installing and coordinating the installation of PCs, workstation operating systems, and application software.Assist in maintaining computers and related equipment in the computer lab.Install, relocate, and perform operational checks on computer equipment.Conduct yearly inventory of all network-attached client devices.QualificationsEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum of two years' experience as an IT Support Technician.Capability to obtain Microsoft Entry-Level Certification within the first year of employment.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.Strong oral and written communication skills.Physical/Mental DemandsMobility to work in typical office settings using standard office equipment.Vision to read printed materials and computer screens.Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.Working ConditionsGeneral office setting with occasional deadlines requiring flexibility and adaptability.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily.
