Position Overview / Department Overview:

• Our organization is looking for skilled Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners to become part of our multidisciplinary team in the Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Delivering care to infants, children, and adults facing critical health challenges.
• Working alongside supervising physicians to perform patient evaluations, gather medical histories, conduct physical examinations, and identify health and developmental issues.
• Managing treatment plans for patients with both acute and chronic conditions, adhering to established guidelines.
• Engaging in medical rounds within the intensive care unit, presenting clinical data and updates on patient management.
• Contributing to the formulation of treatment strategies and participating in educational activities led by the MSICU attending staff.
• Involving oneself in ongoing research initiatives within the MSICU and providing expertise as a consultant and educator to fellow staff members.
• Availability for full-time work, encompassing a 40-hour work week with day/night rotations, including every third weekend, and 12-hour shifts. Permanent night positions with a rotation of every fourth weekend are also available.

Essential Qualifications Education:

• Master of Science in Nursing or a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies.

Experience:

• Preferred one year of experience in critical care.
• New graduates with relevant experience will also be considered.
• A strong foundational knowledge in critical care medicine.
• Demonstrated critical thinking abilities and flexibility.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with medical and surgical teams, staff, and trainees.

Licensure / Certifications:

• A valid Massachusetts NP or PA license is required.
