Prep Cook

Position Overview
The Prep Cook role is responsible for preparing ingredients and supporting daily kitchen production to ensure all stations are properly stocked and service-ready. Prep Cooks play an important role in maintaining quality, consistency, and organization while supporting the overall success of the kitchen team.

The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and eager to learn, with a strong attention to detail and commitment to culinary excellence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients according to established recipes, specifications, and production standards
• Complete daily prep lists accurately and efficiently
• Assist with vegetable preparation, butchery, sauces, stocks, and other kitchen production as assigned
• Properly label, store, and rotate products according to established procedures
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas, walk-ins, and storage spaces
• Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing deliveries
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
• Communicate product needs and inventory concerns to kitchen leadership
• Support station setup and operational readiness for service
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and team-oriented kitchen culture

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a professional kitchen preferred
• Basic knife skills and understanding of kitchen fundamentals
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Ability to follow recipes, procedures, and direction from kitchen leadership
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to remain organized in a fast-paced environment
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
