Location Avera Sacred Heart Hospital Worker Type Regular Work Shift Primarily days with night, weekend and holiday on‑call involvement (United States of America) Pay Range $32.50 - $48.50 (actual pay rate dependent upon experience) Position Highlights & Hours Days – start times vary. Three 8‑hr shifts and one 12‑hr shift per week. Weekday call once a week or every other week. Every 10th weekend on call. One holiday per year on call. A Brief Overview Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis, establishing nursing care objectives, defining nursing interventions, and providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends to understand patient conditions, medications, and self‑care skills. Notes changing conditions and needs, and re‑evaluates care objectives. What you will do Review physician prescriptions and communicate the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other health‑care team members. Coordinate with other healthcare providers and provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends. Conferring with physicians, documenting patient physical condition and psychological status, and influencing social factors. Develop nursing diagnoses, establish nursing care objectives, and define nursing interventions, schedules, and timetables. Teach patients and families to understand their condition, medications, and self‑care skills; answer questions and provide resources. Evaluate patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes, and reviewing patient records. Re‑evaluate care objectives and modify the nursing care plan as needed. Maintain a safe and secure patient‑care environment by following infection‑control policies, medication administration procedures, and controlled‑substance regulations. Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Maintain patient‑care equipment by operating according to instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, and performing preventive maintenance. Ensure patient‑care supplies are stocked by checking inventory, anticipating needs, and placing orders. Maintain proficiency in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership. Must communicate effectively with others, hearing, understanding, and distinguishing speech and other sounds. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience Registered Nurse (RN) – active license in the state of practice upon hire. Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience 1‑3 years experience working in a clinical environment.
