Statistician for AI Model Training

Apply advanced statistical expertise to produce high-quality training data and benchmark responses that improve how next-generation AI systems learn, reason, and perform. As a remote contractor you will create authoritative, well-explained answers to advanced statistics questions, document rationales for model interpretability, and help set gold-standard examples used in model training and evaluation.

• Produce authoritative, accurate, and well-explained responses to advanced statistics queries, prioritizing clarity and depth.
• Review and evaluate statistical data, queries, and proposed solutions for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with best practices.
• Develop comprehensive explanations and justifications across foundational and specialized statistics topics, tailored to varied technical backgrounds.
• Create exemplary "golden responses" that serve as benchmarks for AI outputs, ensuring reliability and consistency in training data.
• Document the context and rationale behind answers to support model interpretability and future annotation efforts.
• Collaborate with annotation leads and project managers to refine project requirements and maintain response quality standards.
• Participate in remote discussions or workshops to clarify objectives and align with the contributor community.

• PhD in Statistics or a closely related field, with demonstrated expertise in core and advanced statistical topics.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex statistical concepts precisely.
• Experience creating, reviewing, or publishing scientific, technical, or educational statistics materials, such as research articles, curricula, industry reports, or peer reviews.
• Familiarity with sub-disciplines such as probability theory, statistical inference, Bayesian methods, biostatistics, experimental design, or computational statistics.
• Strong attention to analytical detail and commitment to methodological rigor.
• Experience with MySQL and advanced data analysis techniques.
• Background in AI, data annotation, or digital content development is a plus, though not required. No prior AI experience is necessary, domain expertise is the priority.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively in remote, cross-functional project environments.

• Role type: Contractor, remote.
• Compensation approach: output-based, paid per task that meets project specifications. Time to complete tasks will vary by expert and task complexity.
• Minimum submission requirements apply. There is a required minimum number of tasks to submit each week; the exact number will be specified during onboarding.
• Availability expectations: roles are typically filled within 48 hours. If selected, you should be ready to begin your first tasks within 24 to 48 hours after completing onboarding.

• Pay range: $90 to $120 per hour.
• Payment is structured around completed tasks that meet project specifications, with actual time billed depending on the expert''s workflow and task complexity.
